What do you do as a mechanical engineer?
As a mechanical engineer I work closely with our team to coordinate and complete engineering, design, and drafting for different scopes. We provide mechanical calculations and design packages with projects involving piping design and modifications, pipe stress analysis, and high energy piping upgrades/modifications.
Why did you choose mechanical as your discipline?
I chose mechanical engineering as I followed in the path of my dad and middle brother who both studied mechanical engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville as well.
What would you say to kids wanting to make engineering their future?
I would recommend kids explore the endless possibilities mechanical engineering provides. Growing up I saw what my family did with their engineering degrees, but coming to Mesa has allowed me to do something completely different that I had never even thought of! Mechanical engineering allows you to pursue so many different paths, and many of those paths will be ones you did not know about!
