On June 10, 2022, two associates from Mesa Associates, Inc. were paired with two great teammates from Evergy for a great day of golf at the Guadalupe Centers Bob Soltero Scholarship Golf Tournament held at the Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, MO. Mesa was represented by Tom Vance and Rob Shirey while Evergy was represented by Ron Rohr and Jacob Sowers. The weather was great, and the event was well put together to make for a great tournament. The Mesa/Evergy team took second place in Flight A, shooting a 15-under par. The team also won the “Line Drive” competition, which, on one hole, a rope was strung along the center of the fairway and the person with the ball that landed closest to the line, won.
The Guadalupe Centers Bob Soltero Scholarship Golf Tournament was established in 2004 to involve the community in the development of our future generation of leaders by support of the scholarship fund. The tournament supports two scholarships: the Tony Aguirre Scholarship which supports students pursuing a private high school education that are actively engaged with the Guadalupe Center as a program participant or volunteer and the Gilbert Guerrero Scholarship which supports graduates of the Guadalupe Centers High School pursuing a post-secondary education.
